Floating Land explores environmental themes while creating and exhibiting temporary artworks in the Noosa region’s outdoor natural settings.
In these virtual times where our connection with the environment is increasingly through a digital realm, Floating Land: Lost & Found invites the audience to reconnect with the authenticity of nature through art.
The program will feature at least 10 creative works to be installed primarily along the Noosa River foreshore from 16 September to 2 October 2017; Artcycle, using recycled and reused materials; installations showing the connection between practising artists, the community and the artworks in the unique environment at Boreen Point on the shores of Lake Cootharaba; Digital Art Trail, guiding visitors along the sculptural exhibition; a diverse public program from Noosa Council and partnering agencies; and Satellite Events with businesses, community organisations and individuals.
